Coming Back with 509 Unfiltered

Jessica Taylor has been part of our lives since 2016. Not just in the background, not just when things were smooth—but in the thick of the mess. She’s the kind of person who shows up in your hardest moments and calls it exactly how she sees it. No fluff. No performative empathy. Just real, honest connection.

She’s a friggin warrior, plain and simple.

So it’s no surprise that her podcast, The 509 Unfiltered, is making waves in Eastern Washington. Jess took her experience as a retired big-city cop and transformed it into a platform for truth-telling, connection, and community storytelling. She’s traded in her badge for a mic—but make no mistake, she’s still showing up for people in a big way.

The 509 Unfiltered is everything its name suggests—raw, real, and rooted in what actually matters. Jess brings on guests to talk about the good, the gritty, and the stuff most people shy away from. From highlighting small businesses that deserve the spotlight to diving into the messy conversations that shape small-town life, she’s not afraid to go there.

Because Jess knows that healing, growth, and change don’t come from silence. They come from truth—and that’s exactly what she offers, episode after episode.

If you want a voice that holds space, holds people accountable, and still manages to hold your heart, give The 509 Unfiltered a listen. You’ll laugh, you’ll feel, and most of all, you’ll know you’re not alone.

And Jess? She’s not just telling stories. She’s building a movement—one unfiltered conversation at a time.

Afterthoughts

When I re-read what I wrote most times… I surprise myself and have valuable realizations/ thoughts that I’d love to share… You can read them below.

Postscript: Coming Back with Jess at 509 Unfiltered

When it comes to having a community of support, I have been extremely blessed with people who are there for me in the coolest of ways.

Jess is one of those people. Jess has had our family’s back for over a decade. She knows personally and professionally the multiple family members in the LEO communities past and present. She had our backs in 2016 when Dad was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer, and stayed with us supporting and fundraising for cancer research, family support, peer support through the police community too.

Jess is no holds barred. Calls it like she sees it. And takes no crap from anyone, I know that’s why we connect, we are the same in that way. She has been a shoulder for me through the last few years, and I can never ever be able to repay her kindness and love to us. As well, as for me. She will do everything she can to support My Second Half Self, and everything else that grows with us.

When you’re building your communities, keep your eyes and ears open for those who will learn about you, care for you, and love you as much as our friend Jessica.

Thank you, Jess, I know that id still be lost in this space if it was not for you.

XOXO
